Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Harness, 98, of Waterproof, LA will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 1:00pm from Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof. Burial will follow at the Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof with Rev. Adrian Lundy officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 to 8pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harness, daughter of Victor and Amanda Jones Wiley was born in Waterproof and died at the Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and served on the church Mother's Board. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Crescent Chapter #142.

She is survived by one son, Elijah B. Bailey; one daughter, Mary L. Favorite both of Waterproof; one sister, Dorothy Spain of Brooklyn, NY; nineteen grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Harness is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Prince Harness, a daughter, Alice L. McCranie and a number of siblings.
