Funeral services for Alma Faye Townsend Cooper, 71, of Ferriday, LA will be held Thursday, December 23, 2021 at 11:00am from Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation will be held Thursday morning from 10am to service time at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery with Pastor Eddie Schiele officiating.

Mrs. Cooper, daughter of Percy and Alma Jones Townsend was born in Ferriday and died at her residence. She was a member of Rosehill Baptist Church and was a food nutritionist for Concordia Council of the Aging.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Cooper of Ferriday; her children, Shelby Townsend (Margaret) of Kingston, GA; Tyrrence Townsend (Renee) of Copperas Cove, TX; Phillip Thomas (Chantel); Aaron Thomas all of Killeen, TX; Joyce Gibbons (Maurice) of Marietta, GA; Tonia Johnston of Goldsboro, NC; two brothers, Aaron Jones (Kim) of Warren, OH and Willie Ray Townsend of Topeka, KS; twenty three grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and one aunt, Minnie Jones of Ferriday.

Preceding her in death are her parents and five siblings, Larry E. Townsend, Phillip Townsend, Gloria Jean Townsend, Geraldine Harris and Estelle Glasper Bullock.
