Funeral services for Arthur Perkins, Jr., 57, of Ferriday, LA will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11:00am from Rosehill Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA.

Mr. Perkins, son of Arthur and Dorothy Martin Perkins was born in Vidalia, LA and died at his residence following a long illness. He was a diesel mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Vernita Shepard Perkins; his mother; one son, Derrick Shepard; three daughters, Katrina Spurs, Shannon Watson and Toyua Watson; two brothers, Myron Perkins and his wife, Shelia; Patrick Perkins; five sisters, Carolyn Brown, Beverly Perkins, Joann Taylor, Gilbertine Armsted and her husband, Larry and Gloria Perkins. And a number of other relatives, and friends.
