Funeral services for Arthur Louis "Coon" Smith, 66, of New Orleans, LA formerly of Waterproof, LA will be held Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00am from Oakwood Baptist Church in Waterproof. Burial will follow at the Oakwood Cemetery in Waterproof with Prophetess Christine Ford officiating.

Mr. Smith, son of Elijah and Hazel Douglas Smith, was born in Waterproof and died at his residence in New Orleans. He was a carpenter.

He is survived by one son, ReDarreion Shartez Warren of Corpus Christi, TX; three daughters, Trellis Minnette Grant; Kameka Deadra Lee Ellzey; Gloria Shade' Swanson all of Ft. Worth, TX; three brothers, Nathaniel "Rand" Smith and Alexander Smith and his wife, Gladys all of Waterproof; Lee Murray Smith and his wife, Amanda of New Orleans; three sisters, Annie Mae Smith and her companion, James Cephus, II of Waterproof; Loretta Turner and her husband, Thomas of Natchez, MS; Elizabeth S. Hilliard and her husband, David of Houston, TX.

Also mother of his children, Evon Grant of Ft. Worth, TX; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents.
