Funeral services for Baldemar Zavala Guzman, 76, of Sicily Island, LA, passed on June 6, 2023 at Mariana Nursing Home, Wisner, LA were held  June 10, 2023, at the New Hope Church in  Sicily Island.  Bro. Chris Hamilton officiated. Burial   followed at the Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA.

Baldemar Guzman was born Oct. 19, 1946 in Vera Cruz, Mexico, the son of Gabriel Zavala and Maria Guzman Zavala.

He was preceded in death by; his parents, Gabriel Zavala and Maria Guzman and  one uncle Luisano Guzman

Mr. Guzman leaves to cherish his memories to his wife, Francisca Garza Zavala of Sicily Island; two sons, Jose Zavala and his wife Christi of Calhoun, LA;  Julio Zavala and his wife Jackie of Lafayette, LA; two daughters, Maria Polk and  her husband, Clyde; Rachel Zavala and her husband Kevin all of Sicily Island, LA; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a number of other relatives and friends.
