Funeral services for Bessie Lee Collins Bruins, 84, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00am from St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, LA. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 7pm at the funeral home. She will be interred next to her husband, Fleming Bruins on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00am with Rev. T. A. Baker, Jr. officiating.

Mrs. Bruins, a daughter of Mannie and Viola Carter Collins was born in Frogmore, LA and died at her residence. She was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore. She is preceded in death by her husband, Fleming Bruins, one son, Ray Bruins, two brothers, James and Roy Collins, three sisters, Ramona Collins, Lee Gather Johnson and Roileaus Higgins. Also a grandchild, Demetrius Bethley.

Mrs. Bruins is survived her daughter, Eva Bethley and her husband, Freddie of Los Angeles, CA; one step daughter, Jo Ann Davis of California; one sister, Tante Collins of Ferriday and one grandchild, Alexis.
