Services for Birtteel Dixon Gilmore, 72, of Ferriday, LA will be held May 28, 2014 at 10:3am at the Church of God on Third Street in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS with Pastor Leonard Posey officiating.

Mrs. Gilmore, daughter of Henry and Mayola Luss Dixon was born in Eva, LA and died at the Passages Hospice in New Orleans, LA.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Gilmore and his wife, Tanya; Derrick Johnson and his wife, Valerie all of Slidell, LA; two daughters, Rochell Gilmore and Kimberly Jackson both of New Orleans; four brothers, Henry Dixon and his wife, Mattie Sue; Charlie Dixon and his wife, Yvonne all of Alexandria, LA; L. B. Dixon of Ferriday; Tommie Bell of Shreveport, LA; two sisters Cynthia D. Bethley of Chicago, IL and Ola Mae Murphy of Alexandria, VA; three grandchildren; two aunts, Bernice Dixon and Cressie Lee Dixon both of Ferriday; and number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Gilmore and a sister, Beckie Dixon Clark
