Funeral services for Mr. C. J. Smith, 67, of Doloroso, MS will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11:00am from Free Springs Baptist Church in Doloroso. Burial will follow at the church cemetery with Rev. George Norflin officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Saturday morning from 10am to service time.

Mr. Smith, son of Elbert Smith, Sr. and Essie Shropshire Smith was born in Woodville, MS and died at his residence. He was retired from the sawmill.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Willis Smith, four brothers and three sisters.

His survivors are his children, two sons, Kevin Smith, Sr. and his wife, Doris; Marcel Smith, Sr. and his wife, LaToya all of Natchez, MS; Carla Smith of Doloroso and Kimberly Smith of Detroit, MI; two god children, LaShonda McGhee and her husband, Marquavius of Garden City, MS; Arthur Johnson of Ferriday; sister-in-law, Laura Spencer of Doloroso; two aunts, Edna Sullivan of Woodville, MS and Rosa Lee Brooks of Natchez. Also eighteen grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
