Charles Larry Johnson was born on May 4, 1940, in Monterey,LA , to the late Jessie Louis and Mildred Bernice Johnson.

Known to everyone by "Larry" graduated high school from W.H. Lanier High School in Jackson, MS.  He went on to attend Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.  He graduated Southern with degrees in Electronic Engineering and Music.  Larry was also a member of the world famous Southern University "Human Jukebox."

Larry moved to California after graduation and enlisted and served in the U.S. Army from 1963 to 1965 with an Honorable Discharge as Private E-1.  He received medals for good conduct and sharp shooter (rifle).

He continued his career at Douglas Aircraft as an engineer until 1971.  He then became a Professor at California State University as aviation technician instructor from 1971 - 1978.  Later he began working at the University of Southern California as a broadcasting engineer from 1978 - 1986.

After his retirement Larry returned home to Louisiana where he remained until he departed this life on Monday, November 13 this year.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his memories, his one and only child, Jessica LaNiece Johnson, special cousins, Charity (CB) Cooper an Freddie R. Ford; godson, Charles Nelson Guidroz, Sr.  Also, a number of other family and friends.
