Funeral services for Danny Collins, 53, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00am from the St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, LA with Pastor David Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at Concordia Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Mr. Collins, son of Mose and Estelle Jefferson Collins was born in Pineville, LA and died at his residence. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his long time companion, Coleetha Ford; five sons, Stephon and Keith Sheppard all of Ferriday; Danny Sheppard of Monroe, LA;  Kenderric Sheppard of Baton Rouge, LA; William Sheppard of Vidalia; LA; two step sons, Antowian Greer and Anthony Greer both of Vidalia; one daughter, LaTonya Sheppard of Baton Rouge; two brothers, Mose Collins, Jr. (Vicki) of Marian, LA; Joseph Collins of Oakland, CA; five sisters, Susie Sheppard, Estelle Foster, Irene Collins Walters (Rev. Ron Walters) ; Diane Vaughn (Pastor David Vaughn) all of Ferriday; Gloria Barnes (Donald) of Natchez, MS.

Also six grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mr. Collins is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Collins and Lee Collins; and one grandchild, Zahara Sheppard.
