Graveside funeral services for David K. Jackson, Sr., 81 of Ferriday, LA will be held January 14, 2021 at the Doty Road Church of God church cemetery in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday.

Mr. Jackson, son of Albert and Virginia Hall Jackson was born in Eva, LA and died at the Camelot Leisure Living Home in Ferriday. He was a retired trackman for the Missouri Pacific railroad.

David enjoyed a love for luxury cars and was a fashion innovator, enjoyed Cajun food, the New Orleans Saints football games and had a great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife Viola Jackson of New York; his children,  Doris Bather and her husband, Everton, of Port Lucie, FL, Valeria Turner, Doneshia and her husband, Michael of California; Sharon Yearby, Mary Hooper, Florida Marie Neal, all of Louisiana; Demetrice Jackson,  David Jackson, Jr. and Aaron Jackson of New York; his siblings, Addie Allen of Michigan; Parish Jackson and Roosevelt Jackson and his wife, Johnette of Louisiana; sister-in-law, Georgia Platt of Louisiana.

Also his devoted companion, Dale Evans of Louisiana and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews great-grandchildren, in-laws, cousins and friends whose lives he touched in so many ways. David will forever be missed.

David is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Roy Jackson, sister, Vertina Armstrong Hairston, a daughter, Valerie Jackson, and a  son, Marvin Jackson.
