Funeral services for David Lee Leonard, 64, of Ferriday, LA were held April 28, 2018 at the St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore, LA with Pastor Jarrod Bottley officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA.

Mr. Leonard, son of Joe Vaughn and Alice Leonard Fields was born in Frogmore and died at his residence. He was a construction worker. He served in the US Army from 1978 to 1982 earning an honorable discharge.

His survivors include his two daughters, Jovonda Lewis and Brittany Leonard both of Ferriday; three brothers, James Leonard and his wife, Geraldine of St. Lucia, FL; Michael Leonard of Baton Rouge, LA; Jesse Vaughn of Dallas, TX; eight sisters, Daisy Leonard of Ferriday; Ella Smith and her husband, Charles; Linda Moore, Shirley Gullette and her husband, Charles all of Alexandria, LA; Brenda Carter, Hurley Jean Humphrey both of Cartersville, GA; Patricia White of Atlanta, GA; Angelina Alexander and her husband, James of Gary, IN; Emeal Hopkins and her husband, James of Oakland, CA; two uncles, David Leonard and his wife, Willie Mae of Ferriday; Joseph Leonard of Tacoma, WA; two aunts, Ernestine Leonard and Geneva Leonard both of Ferriday; six grandchildren and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

David was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Emma Leonard, Dorothy Leonard, Carolyn Vaughn and Rosie Prater; three brothers, Eddie Leonard, Joe Vaughn and Larry Vaughn.
