Funeral services for Derrick Cottrell Lewis, 41, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 11:00am from the New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery with Pastor Danny Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Lewis, son of Edward Horace and Agnes Lewis Franklin, was born in Ferriday and died in Boyce, LA.

He is survived by her mother, Agnes L. Franklin of Ferriday; his father, Edward Horace of Alexandria, LA;  two sisters, LaWanna Thomas and Sade' Lewis both of Dallas, TX; maternal grandmother who raised him, Pearline Brown; four aunts, Tameka Lewis and Quintella White all of Ferriday; Tunda Wannamaker and Renata Lewis both of Dallas, TX; two uncles, Robert L. Lewis  and Toney Lewis and his wife, Pamela all of Ferriday.

Mr. Lewis is preceded in death by one aunt, Mable Lewis Daniels.
