Funeral services for Donnie Fakes, 53, of Hattiesburg, MS formerly of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2:00pm from the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Concordia Park, Vidalia, LA under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery. Pastor Terry Jackson will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Fakes, son of James and Elvonne Fakes, was born in Natchez, MS and died at the Forrest General Hosptial in Hattiesburg. He was a brick layer and of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa McCullah Fakes  of Clayton, LA; one brother, James Fakes, Jr. and his wife, Nicole of Hattiesburg;  one sister, Doris Ellis and her husband, Bernarldo of Ashburn, VA. Also one aunt, Thelma Simpson Davis of Vidalia ; two uncles, Robert Fortune and his wife, Candice of Ferriday; Charles Simpson of Vidalia,  and  a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
