Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Coleman, 80, of Marrero, LA , formerly of Ferriday, LA were held March 8, 2025 at St. James Baptist Church on Skipper Drive in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial followed at the Ferriday Cemetery in Ferriday.

Mrs. Coleman, daughter of Dorothy Jones and Abraham Woodruff, was born in Ferriday and died at the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Westwego, LA. She was also a retired cook having worked at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Magnolia School and Piccadilly's Restaurant.

She is survived by her son, Toney R. Coleman, Sr. and his wife, Darlene of Arlington, TX; four brothers, Ralph Woodruff and his wife, Lisa of New Orleans, LA; Roosevelt Washington and Calvin Washington both of Ferriday; Forest Washington of Lancaster, CA; seven sisters, Leola Ferguson, Margie Ivory, Beatrice Hill all of Texas; Magnolia Davis and her husband, Timothy; Linda Washington, Edna Minor and Joyce Minor both of Ferriday; two aunts, Queenie Woodruff and Joe Ann Smith both of Ferriday; six grandchildren,  ten great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceding her in death are her parents, two sisters, Fredia Woodruff and Angelia Lee; five brothers, Ivory Woodruff, Samuel Washington, Willie Washington, Donald Ray Washington and James Washington.
