Funeral services for Dorothy Perkins, 75, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 11:00am from Triumph Baptist Church in Vidalia, LA. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery with Rev. Doug Logan officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Perkins, daughter of Walter and Estella Miles Martin was born in Marville, LA and died at her residence follow a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Triumph Baptist Church.

Her survivors are four daughters, Gilbertine Perkins Armsted and her husband, Larry; Beverly Perkins, JoAnn Taylor and Gloria Perkins; two sons, Myron Perkins and his wife Shelia; Patrick Perkins all of Ferriday; two sisters, Elizabeth Martin and Mary Martin Hill both of Dallas, TX; twin god-sons, Larry and Barry Brown both of Vidalia.

She was blessed with nineteen grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. And a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Arthur Perkins, Jr. and one son, Arthur Perkins, Jr.

Her favorite scripture was Psalms 91: 15 & 16 - "He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation."
