On Tuesday, February 24, 2015 Dorothy J. Wansley, 82, of Katy, TX, formerly of New Orleans, LA, departed this life at the Hermann Memorial Hospital in Katy, TX. She was born September 3, 1931 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of Austin and Inez Newman Joseph. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Rodney L. Wansley; three siblings, Ethel Mae, Austin, Jr. and Rudolph M. Joseph; step-daughter, Patricia Todd. She was a retired nurse.

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shelia W. Fountain and her husband, Jeffery; step daughter, Elaine Leflore; brother, Wilson Joseph, Sr.; sister, Alice J. Dabney; godbrother, Rev. Moses S. Gordon and his wife, Alfreda; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Relatives, friends of the family, along with the pastors, officers and members of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, First African Baptist Church, 6th District, New Zion Baptist Church, and New Orleans Alumnae Chapter and Houston Alumnae Chapter Delta Sigma Theta Sorority are invite to attend the funeral services.

The funeral services will be at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church located at 2805 General Taylor Street, New Orleans on Saturday, March 7 at 10:00am. Visitation will be from 9 to 10am at the church. Interment will follow at the Providence Memorial Park, located at 8200 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA.
