WHAT MOTHERS DO. . .
She carried us under her heart, loved us before we were born. She took God's hand and walked us through the "Valley of the Shadows" that we might live. She bathed us when we were helpless, clothed us when we were naked, fed us when we were hungry, rocked us to sleep when we were weary and sang to us like an angel. She held our hands til we learned to walk, suffered with our sorrows, laughed with our joy, glowed with our triumph, and while we knelt at her side, she taught us how to pray. She was a loyal friend when all others failed. Through all the days of our youth, she gave us strength for our weakness, courage for our despair and hope for our helpless heart. She prayed for us whether our live were flooded with sunshine or saddened with pain. We can never repay the debt we owe to our dear Mother.
