Services for Emmalean C. Broom, 82, of Ferriday, LA who died Dec. 30, 2016, at Merit Health Natchez Hospital in Natchez, MS will be held Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00AM at the New Morning Star Baptist Church with Pastor Danny Lewis officiating. Burial will be Monday, January 9, 2017 at 10:00AM at the Natchez National Cemetery, Natchez, MS. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4 to 7 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Broom was born in Monterey, LA, the daughter of Levier and Sarah Edwards Crumb.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Broom, Sr.; her parents and a sister, Irma Pryor.

Mrs. Broom was on the Mother's Board at New Morning Star Baptist Church; member of Matron's Civic Club and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 536. She is a retired educator for the Adams County School District.

Survivors include One son, Prince Broom, Jr. of Fairburn, GA; two step-daughters, Gwendolyn Sims of Roxie, MS; Jerutha Lee of Kenner, LA; one grand-daughter, Ashley Skipper; two great-grand-daughters, Ashyee Edwards and Ambree Thompson; a special friend, Doothy Matthews and her husband, Rodney all of Ferriday. And a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
