Services for Ethel Henderson Martin, 87, of Ferriday, LA, who died Monday, June 3, 2014, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini, Alexandria, LA, will be Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Harvest Baptist Church with the Bishop Justin Conner officiating.

Burial will follow in Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM at the St. James Baptist Church on Skipper Drive in Ferriday, LA.

Mrs. Martin was born October 13, 1927, in Clayton, LA, the daughter of the late Walter and Beatrice Wallace Henderson.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Walter Henderson and Ernest Henderson.

Survivors includes her five sons; Lawrence (Sherria) Martin, Jr.; Rev. Lee (Juanita) Martin, Sr.;Eddie (Joyce) Martin and Joseph Martin, all of Ferriday, LA; Billy (Karen) Martin of Houston, TX; three daughters, Patricia Martin of Ferriday, LA; Annie Palms and Gladys (Joseph) McCray, both of Houston, TX; seven brothers, Louis Arnestine) Henderson, Leon (Linda) Henderson, Cemuel (Priscilla) Henderson and Wilbert Henderson all of Ferriday, LA; Leroy Henderson and Jesse (Rosalin) Henderson both of New Orleans, LA; Oliver (Mattie) Henderson of Chicago, IL; four Sisters, Ernestine Harris, Virginia (Ike) Washington, Thelma Webb and Elizabeth Calhoun, all of Ferriday, LA; a goddaughter, Archia Watson of Ferriday, LA; thirty grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Lela Petty of Newellton, LA; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
