Funeral services for Ezella H. Davis, 97, of Waterproof, LA will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 at 2:00pm from the Harvest Baptist Church, 305 Lake Drive in Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at the Consurella Cemetery on Lake St. John in Waterproof, with Rev. Steven Davis, her son, of Edwards, NC.

Mrs. Davis, daughter of Lafayette and Octavia Heard Hiner was bron in West Point, MS and died at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Baptist Church on Lake St. John.

She is survived by seven daughters, Octavia Moore; Mary Sue Petty and her husband, Harry; Katye Clark, Macie Holmes and her husband, Rev. Nathaniel Holmes; Linda Arline and her husband, William; Martha Taylor all of Houston, TX; Margaret Allen and her husband, Alvin of Petalunia, CA; six sons, Willie Johnson and his wife, Billie; and James Davis, Sr. both of Waterproof; Cornelius Davis and his wife, Patricia; Pollard Davisn and his wife, Alice; Abe Davis, Jr. all of Houston, TX; Pastor Steven Davis and his wife, Lora of Edward, NC.

Also a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren,great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. One special nephew, Arthur Gross; two special friends, Augustine Levy and Herbert Brown all of Ferriday; one sister-in-law, Grace Ann Davis.

Mrs. Davis is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Abe Davis, Sr. and a daughter, Sarah Gray.
