Funeral services for Franklin  D. "Shoates"  Banks, 74, of Natchez, MS will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00am from Union Baptist Church in Vidalia, LA. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery in Vidalia, LA under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. Rev. Louis Banks will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Banks, son of Jeffrey and Patsy Cubie Banks was born in Vidalia and died at Merit Health Natchez in Natchez. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and a retired correctional officer.

His survivors are: his life long companion, Betty J. Wilson of Natchez; four children, Sylvester Wilson, Jr. and his wife, Lena; Troy Wilson and his wife, Dambrell; Catherine P. Latham and her husband. Paul all of Natchez; LaKisha Holloway-Thomas and her husband, Jabbar of Atlanta, GA; his siblings, Renard Banks, Sr. and his wife, Sylvia of Natchez; Danny Lyles and his wife, Denise of Dallas, TX; Helen Lyles and her husband, Jonathan all of Bettye Sigust, Marjorie Williams and her husband, Charlee, Sharon Banks and her husband, Rolando White; Barbara Lyles and her husband, James all of Vidalia; nine grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins  and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Banks is preceded in death by his parents, his twin sister, Elnora Banks; other siblings, Idellia Banks, Erma Bell, Jeffrey Banks, Jr., Ernie Banks, Sr., Leo Banks and Jessie Banks, Sr.
