Funeral services for Frederick Bloodsaw, 63, of Ferriday, LA, who passed on Aug. 23, 2026 at University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS, will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, Rufus BC, Ferriday, LA, with Bishop Jenny Kimble officiating. Viewing will be on Saturday after funeral service has ended.

Burial will follow at Athlone Cemetery, 13425 Louisiana Ave, Jonesville, LA, under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home, Ferriday.

Frederick Bloodsaw was born on Oct. 21, 2026, Jonesville, LA, the son of the late John L. Bloodsaw and Annie Holly, Jena, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Frederick leaves to cherish his loving memories to his two sons, Frederick Bloodsaw, Jr., Abilene, TX, Herman Bloodsaw, Ferriday, LA; one daughter, Courtney Bloodsaw, Monroe, LA; four brothers, John Bloodsaw, Jamearlon Franklin, both of Jonesville, LA, Kenneth Bloodsaw, Jena, LA, Damario Franklin (Keisha); three sisters, Tameka Franklin, both of Houston, TX, Pamela Simpkins, Junction City, KS, Kimberely Bloodsaw, Tulsa, OK; one grandchild, Tahjay Hawkins, Ferriday, LA; his longtime companion, Chilla Prater, Ferriday, LA; six uncles, Floyd Bloodsaw, Detroit, MI, Glenn Bloodsaw (Joyce), Southfield, MI, Boston Bloodsaw, Hopskinville, KY, Joe Ray Jenkins, Natchitoches, LA, Henry Jenkins, Jena, LA, Vince Jenkins, Alexandria, LA; two aunts, Charolette Davis, Irving, TX, Georganne Johnson, Houston, TX; the mother of his children, Barbara Bloodsaw, Ferriday, LA; a host of other relatives, nieces, nephews, and friends.
