Funeral service for Gregory P. "Greg" Portis,58,of Vidalia, LA will be held February 21, 2015 at 11:00am from Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Vidalia. Burial will follow at the Vidalia Cemetery with Rev. Raymond Riley, Sr. officiating.

Mr. Portis, son of Ritho and Dorothy Drumgold Portis was born in Natchez, MS and died at Natchez Regional Medical Center in Natchez.

He is survived by his wife, Tanya Williams Portis of Vidalia; one son, Gregory Sims of Chicago, IL; three daughters, Felencia Scott of Cedar Hill,TX and Velencia Robertson of Arlington, TX; Louise Vaughn of Baton Rouge, LA; three sisters, Jacqueline P. Williams and her husband, George, of Missouri City, TX; Elaine Griffin and her husband Kelton, of Upper Marlboro, MD; Rosamond P. Robinson of Vidalia; ten grandchildren; six nieces, two nephews; eleven great nephews and great nieces; one great-great grandchild a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, neighbors and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Ritho Green, one brother, Ritho Portis, Jr. and one sister, Virlina Portis Clay. Also one grandson, Goldman Scott, Jr.
