Funeral services for Gregory Purvis, 56, of Los Angeles, CA formerly of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 11:00am from Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday, LA with Pastor Larry Andrews officiating. Burial will be held Monday, June 10, 2019 at 10:00am the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS.

Mr. Purvis, son of Ruby Koon was born in Ferriday and died at his residence in Los Angeles. He was a US Army veteran having served from September 2, 1982 to October 17, 1984 earning an honorable discharge.

He is survived by two brothers, Rickey Koon of Hercules, CA and Thomas L. Koon and his wife, Rae of El Cerrito, CA. Also a number of cousins and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Purvis is preceded in death by his mother.
