Funeral services for Herman "Knox' , Knox Squirrely" Montgomery, 89, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 1:00pm from the Zion Hill Baptist Church, 2222 Hwy 65 in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Montgomery, son of Emmett and Josephine Hall Montgomery was born in Foules, LA and died at his residence. He was a retired custodian for Concordia Parish School System and a member of the Bethel  AME Church.

His survivors are one daughter, Diane Johnson and her husband, Rev. Charles Johnson of Clayton, LA; one step son, Mitchell Nolan of Lake Charles, LA; two nephews he raised as his own, Willie Chase and his wife, Katisha of Atlanta, GA and James Chase of Fontana, CA; one sister, Jessie Neal and her husband  and his good friend, Henry , Sr. of Clayton; seven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Also a special friend, Mary Martin of Clayton; a special granddaughter, Glenda Montgomery and her husband, Demontrica of Ferriday.

Mr. Montgomery is preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Montgomery, his  parents, one son, Herman Montgomery, Jr. and two brothers.
