Funeral services for Jake Davis, Sr. 88, of Ferriday, LA were held September 10, 2018 at Rising Sun Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial follow at the Zion Hill Church Cemetery in Ferriday with Rev. Don Lucas officiating.

Mr. Davis, son of Lawyer and Laura Edwards Davis was born in Ferriday and died at his residence. He a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of the Rising Sun Church where he served as an usher.

He is survived by his children, Jake Davis, Jr. (Sandra) of Clayton, LA; Jimmie Davis (Norma Jean) of Dallas, TX; Harry Davis (Merea) of Jonesville, LA; James Tademy (Jina) of Ft. Worth. TX; Joan Davis of Dacula, GA and Jannie Wells (John) of Houston, TX.

Also one sister, Viola Green of Ferriday; twenty grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
