Funeral services for JaKerress Hawkins, 17, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00pm from Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at St James Baptist Church Cemetery in Frogmore, LA under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Pastor Watkins will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hawkins, son of Wendell and Kyara Hawkins Brown was born in Ferriday and died at the Jena Nursing and Rehab Center in Jena, LA. He was a 10th grade  student at Ferriday High School.

He is survived by his parents; nine siblings, Jaterria Brown, Jakyareon Hawkins, Jakydrick Hawkins Lakeair Hawkins, Kalayia Morales all of Ferriday; Terriontae Augustine, Terriondrae Augustine, Jaonn Augustine, Jaquarias Augustine all of Simsport, LA; maternal grandmother, Gaynell Hawkins Collins of Ferriday; paternal grandfather, Wendell Brown, Sr. of Natchez, MS and his  godmother, Teresa Newbill of Frogmore.

Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death one sister, Jaonna Augustine,  grandparents, James Collins and Janet Thompson. And his godfather, Prentiss Newbill.
