Funeral services for Jerry Lee Hooper, 70, of Ridgecrest, LA will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 from Concordia Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Ugorji officiating. Burial will be held Monday, October 12, 2015 at 11:00am from the Hooper Family Cemetery in Silver City, MS.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Hooper, son of J. W. Buxton and Louise Christine Hooper was born in Silver City and died at Hospital in Vidalia, LA. He was a landscaper and a member of the New Life Christian Church in San Bernardino, CA.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Edwards Hooper of Ridgecrest; three sons, Steven Elliott Hooper of Rialto, CA, Jermaine Thompson of Los Angeles, CA, Lloyd Hooper of Compton, CA; two daughters, Stacie Ross and her husband, Timothy Ross, Jr. of Rialto, CA; Stephanie Ruffin and her husband, Tahir of Georgetown, TX; two brothers, Eddie Buxton of Silver City and Jay Buxton, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Viola Buxton Cole and her husband, Larry of Belzoni, MS.

Also eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his beloved step-mom, Rita Buxton of Memphis, TX and a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and many, many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Willie Hooper.
