Funeral services for Jesse Tolliver, Jr., 72 of Ferriday, LA will be held Friday, Sept. 12, 2025 at 12 noon at Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday. Visitation will be held Friday morning from 11am to service time. Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez with military honors.

Mr. Tolliver, son of Jesse, Sr.  and Elsie Tolliver, was born in Natchez and died at his residence. He earned an honorable discharge from the US Army for two years of service to his country.

He was reared and educated in  New Orleans after which he enlisted in the Army. Jesse had a quiet sense of humor with a heart of gold. He never sought the spotlight, but he had an extraordinary gift for making every person he met felt valued. Anyone who knew him knew his love for cooking a well dresser.

Jesse is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Terrell Tolliver and his sister, Viola Tolliver.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Harriet B. Tolliver; daughter, Danyell Legaux (Wayne); two grandchildren, Kyra and Kiera Legaux; one sister, Beatrice Johnson; devoted friend, Sheryl Leonard; niece, Destra Tolliver and a host of other relatives and friends.

With heavy hearts, it is time to say goodbye to a truly remarkable man. Jesse touched so many lives with his infectious warm spirit  and his love will forever remain in our hearts.
