Funeral services for Jessie Tyrone McDowell, 60, of Waterproof, LA will be held Monday, July 8, 2019 at 11:00am from the Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Waterproof. Burial will follow at the New Fountain Cemetery in Waterproof under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. Rev. Frank Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mr. McDowell, son of Viola McDowell Thomas and the late Myles Daniels was born in Waterproof and died at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. He was a food service technician at Riverland Medical Center and a US Army veteran. Me was also a member of the New St. Mark Baptist Church in Waterproof.

He is survived by his mother and his companion, Antionette Collins both of Waterproof.; two daughters, LaDonna McDowell and Jylinda Williams of New Orleans, LA; four brothers, Charlie McDowell of Waterproof; Marvin McDowell  and his wife, Marilyn  of New Orleans; Melvin McDowell and Reginald James McDowell both of Waldrof, MD; two sisters, Virgie White of Waterproof and and Carolyn McDowell of Monore, LA.

Also two aunts, Eddie Lee Gillis of Waterproof and Elvie Daniels of New Orleans; one uncle, Eddie Dean Gillis of Monroe, LA. And a number of grandchildren.
