Funeral services for John "Freddie" Turner, 54, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, August 6, 2016 at 11:00am from Old St. Reed Baptist Church on Levee Heights Road in Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery with Prophet Kelvin Davis officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Turner, son of Rev. Eddie and Mary Dixon Turner was born in Ferriday and died at the Passage Hospice in New Orleans, LA. He was a janitor for Heritage Manor Health & Rehab Center in Ferriday.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Khon; one son, John Brown; one step-son, Keith Brown both of Lake Charles, LA; four brothers, Eddie Turner, Jr. and his wife, Novella; William Anthony Turner, Charles Turner and his wife, Cynthia; David Patrick Turner; five sisters, Doris Hooper and her husband, Ernest; Blanche Zeek and her husband, Elvie; Deloris Turner, Lisa Turner and Kimberly Latrice Turner all of Ferrdiday; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also his aunts and uncles, Erma Turner and Earline Herron of Monticello, AR; Daisy Bellanger and her husband, Cornelius; Dorothy Loyd and her husband, Bennie Ray; Lee Pearl Turner and her husband, Rev. R. B. Turner; Willie Dixon and his wife, Emma; and Irvin Dixon all of California; Douglas Dixon of Las Vegas, NV; Jimmie Dixon and his wife, Ann of Alabama. And a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
