Funeral services for Johnny Nelson, 66, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 2:30PM from Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery with Pastor Charles Minor officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7PM at the funeral home.

Mr. Nelson, son of Mabel Nelson was born in Natchez, MS and died at his residence. He was a welder.

Survivors include is wife, Virginia Jolla Nelson of Ferriday; one son, Seven R. Nelson of Houston, TX; one daughter, Janell Griffin and her husband, James of Clayton, LA; three brothers-in-law, Daniel Jolla and his wife, Jessie; George Jolla, Jr. all of Ferriday; David Jolla and his wife, Lubertha of Olympia, Washington; three sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Delihue of Denver, CO; Sally Chatman and Margaret Lawrence both of Ferriday; a special cousin, Alzenia King and her family; eight grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother.
