Funeral services for Journei Gardner, 11, of Jena, LA will be held July 19, 2025 at 1:00pm from the First Baptist Church, 2725 East Oak Street, Jena, LA 71342 under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the church from 5 to 8pm. Burial will follow at the Webster Cemetery , 175 Webster Road in Jena.

Miss Gardner, daughter of Walter White and BreAnda Gardner was born in    Alexandria, LA and died at the Oschner LSU Hospital in Shreveport, LA. She was a Fifth grade student  of Mrs. Sherri Brewer at Goodpine  Middle School Jena.

She leaves to honor her life and legacy to her father of Jonesville, LA and her mother of Jena; her siblings, Jh'Rien White and Jermiah Gardner both of Jena; Karsen Branch, Khali Branch, Jadlynn Braden and Wa'Nylah Mayes all of Jonesville; maternal grandparents,  Regihne Gardner and Jamie Brown both of Jena; paternal grandparent, Connie Jefferson of Ferriday; five aunts, Keyosha Nash, Sherita Nash, Connie White, Cassandra Butler and Rhonda Ceasor; three uncles, Robert Hardwell, IV, Vincent Brown, Jr. and Rodney Hardwell.

In addition to a number of cousins, friends, neighbors, her teacher  and classmates at Goodpine Middle School.
