Funeral services for Joy K. Mayes, 56, of Ferriday, LA will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 12:00 noon from New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery in Natchez, MS.

Mrs. King, daughter of Charley and Ellen Ozan King was born in Vicksburg, MS and died at Natchez Regional Medical Center in Natchez. She was a sales associate for the Walmart Store in Vidalia,LA and caregiver for Maudine Jacob for many years. She was also a member of the House of Prayer Church in Ferriday.

She survived by three children, Anthony Mayes, Jacqueline Johnson and her husband, Keithrick; Antwine Carter and her husband, Reginald all of Ferriday; two brothers, Willie King and his wife, Connie of Ferriday; Phillip King and his wife, Bobbie of Covington, GA; one grandchild, Andreonna Anderson; one godchild, Shan'malik Hawkins both of Ferriday; one uncle, Percy Bernard and his wife, Bertha of Natchez.

She is preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Theodore Kibng, Percy King, Oliver King and Charley King, Jr.; one sister, Elizabeth Hawkins; two uncles, Dumas Hawkins and Roosevelt Hawkins.
