Funeral services for Joyce Ellis Brown, 53, of New Orleans, LA formerly of Ferriday, LA, will be held Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00am from Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery with Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown, daughter of David and Rosie Graham Ellis, was born in Ferriday and died at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her father, David Ellis of Ferriday; one son, Joseph Brown, III of Laplace, LA; three brothers, David Ellis, Jr. and his wife, Laverne; William Ellis and his wife, Karen all of Flint, MI; Kenneth Ellis of Petal, MS; four sisters, Marion Ellis of Dallas, TX; Shirley Taylor and her husband, Willie of New Orleans; Glenda Taylor and her husband, David of Manila, Philippines; Betty Washington and her husband, Curtis of Thibodaux, LA; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her mother and her husband, Joseph Brown, Jr.
