Funeral servicves for L. T. Griggs, Jr., 61, of Ferriday, LA will be held Friday, April 11, 2014 at 11:00am from Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery in Nachez, MS with Rev. Theodore Walker officiating.

Mr. Griggs, son of L. T. and Pauline Johnson Griggs was born in Kansas City, MO and died at the Natchez Community Hospital in Natchez. He was retired from the US Corps of Engineers and was an Air Force veteran having served during the Vietnam War era.

He is survived by his mother, Pauline G. Matthews of Ferriday; one son, Marcus Griggs and his wife, Erinn of Miama, FL; one daughter, Tomika Griggs of Salt Lake City, Utah; six brothers, Gregory Griggs, Ronniie and Lonnie Griggs all of Ferriday; Dalton Griggs and his wife, Debra; Robert Griggs; Morris Griggs and his wife Terry all of Atlanta, GA; five sisters, Colleen Griggs, Elnora Griggs both of Ferriday; Wanda Lee and her husband Mitch; Paula K. Griggs all of Atlanta,GA; Connie Manaigo and her husband Hydrick of Wappingers Falls, NY; five grandchildren; two aunts, Thelma Moore and her husband, William of Pittsburgh, CA; Annie Lee Henderson of Ferriday.

He is preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Michael Griggs and Edgar Charles Griggs; a nephew, Michael Griggs.
