Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Carter Smith, 95, of Ferriday, LA will be held February 20, 2016 at 10:00am from Harvest Baptist Church at 305 Lake Drive in Ferriday. She will be interred beside her husband, Rev. Leon Smith, Sr. at the St. James Church Cemetery in Frogmore, LA. Her grandson, Rev. Michael Smith of Houston, TX will officiate.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8PM at the church and again from 9am to service time also at the church.

Mrs. Smith, daughter of Robert and Maggie Jefferson Carter was born in Frogmore and died at the Camelot Leisure Living Home in Ferriday. She was a member of the St. James Baptist Church in Frogmore.

Her survivors are, two sons, Leon Smith, Jr. and his wife, Winnie; Clifton Smith and his wife, Gladys all of Ferriday; three daughters, Jacqueline Smith-Murray and her Freddrick Murray, Sr. of Natchez, MS; Sadie Cooke of Ferriday; Barbara Bibby and her husband, Thomas Bibby, Sr. of Roanoke, VA; special cousin, Janie Slack and her husband, Harvey of Monroe, LA; special niece, Belinda Benjamin and her husband, Johnnie of Pattison, MS; seventeen grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her husband.
