Funeral services for Luke "Sonny" Heard, 78, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00am from the

Kingdom Living Ministries in Ferriday with Pastor Charles Minor officiating. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery. Visitation

will be held Friday evening fro 4 to 6pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Heard, son of Luke Heard, Sr. and Hazel Childs Heard was born in Ferriday and died at his daughter's house in Vidalia, LA. He was retired plumber and of the Baptist Faith.

His survivors are:  three sons, Herman Dorsey, Jr. and his wife, Angela of New Orleans, LA; Doyle Brown and his wife,

Renee of Greenburg, LA; Otis Brown and his wife Monique of Anaheim, CA; three daughters, Debra Spurs and her

husband, Elbert, Angela Smith and her husband, Nathaniel all of Ferriday; Antoinette Tennessee and her husband,

Marvin of Vidalia, LA; one brother, Bennie Heard of Laplace, LA;  two sisters, Mattie Evans and Maxine Mahaffy both of

Kenner, LA; thirty grandchildren, thirty five great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives,

friends and loved ones. Also his best friend, Henry "June" Lewis, Jr. and his wife, Annie Mae of Ferriday.

Sonny is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beatrice Brown Heard; his parents and several siblings.
