Funeral services for Mary Lee Bailey Favorite, 83, of Waterproof, LA will be held December 21, 2019 at 1:00pm from the Myrtle Grove Baptist Church in Waterproof, LA under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday, LA. Burial will follow at the Good Samaritan Cemetery in Waterproof. Pastor Harry Jessie, Jr. of Dallas, TX will officiate.

Mrs. Favorite, daughter of Elijah  and Alice Wiley Bailey was born in Waterproof and died at the Methodist Mansfield Medical Center in Mansfield, TX. She was a graduate of Dillard University and was a retired teacher for Tensas Parish School system. She was also a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church and the Crescent Chapter O. E. S. PHA #142 of Waterproof, LA.

She is survived by four children, Michel Favorite and his wife, Tonetia of Raleigh , NC; Ernest Favorite, Jr. and his wife, Janet of Marrerto, LA; Vickie Favorite of Grand Prairie, TX; Allison F. Stacker and her husband, Gerald of Arlington, TX; one brother, Elijah Bailey, Jr. of Waterproof; sixteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Also three aunts, Fannie McTear of Marrero, LA; Dorothy Spain of Brooklyn, NY and Constance Carroll of Avondale, LA.

Mrs. Favorite is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ernest Favorite, Sr., one son, Rickie G. Favorite and a number of siblings.
