Funeral services for Mary J. Davis, 86, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, at 11:00am, July 25, 2026 at th.e St. Mark Baptist Church in Clayton, LA under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the New Mt. Zion Church Cemetery in Clayton. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4 to 6pm at the funeral home. Pastor Kelly Anderson will officiate

Mrs. Davis, daughter of Emmit and Henrietta Pierce Shell, was born in Dunbarton, LA and died at her residence.

She leaves to honor her life and legacy, her seven children, Kevin Davis, Larry Davis (Dorothy), Roosevelt Davis, Jr., JoAnn Washington (James) and Myisha Davis (Reggie Barber), and Renza Davis all of Ferriday; Sandra Cotton (Dwight) of Waxahachie, TX; twenty-four grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and a special niece Evelyn White of San Francisco, CA.

Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, Roosevelt Davis, Sr., three siblings, Emmitt Shell, Jr., Josephine Robinson and Annie Perfetto.
