Funeral services for Mary L. "Mama Cat" Watson, 56, of Ferriday, LA will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at 1:00pm from New Morning Star Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery with Rev. Danny Lewis officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5 to 7pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Watson, daughter of Archie Griffin and Agnes Watson was born in Ferriday and died at her residence. She was a janitor at the Ferriday High School.

She is survived by two children, Vernon Watson and Viola Watson both of Ferriday; one brother, Andre Evans of Clayton, LA; six sisters, Irma J. Watson , Agnes White, Geraldine West all of Jonesville, LA; Lisa Evans Leonard of Ferriday; Stephanie Williams of McComb, MS; one uncle, Allen Watson; one aunt, JoHelen Lee both of Ferriday; one god child, TyDarrius Robinson of Texas City, TX; and a number grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents and one sister, Patricia Watson.
