Funeral services for Myrtis Johnson, 91. of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 2:00pm from First Baptist Church on Second Street in Ferriday under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery. Pastor Michael Reed will offiiciate. Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 1 pm to service time at the church.

Mrs. Johnson, daughter of Dave Johnson, Sr. and Norma Hines Johnson was born, June 7, 1932, in Ferriday and died at the Column Nursing Home in Jonesville, LA.

She is survived by three daughters, Alexis Johnson of Ferriday; Veronica Hoye of Oakland, CA and Brenda Tucker of Emeryville CA. Also her half-sister, Mariah Cooper of Waterproof, LA; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A special nephew Eddie Henry and his wife, Delores of Ferriday; a number of other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, Elvis Johnson and two daughters, Sandra K. Johnson, Lavernas Johnson.
