Services for Olliemease McKeel" "Nick" Mitchell, 78, of Ferriday, LA, who died Oct. 9, 2014, at Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA, will be at 1:00 PM Saturday at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday, LA with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating. Burial will follow at the Ferriday Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday 5-7 PM.

Mrs. Mitchell was born November 13, 1935, in Foules, LA, the daughter of William Billy McKeel and Asberry Bryant.

Mrs. Mitchell went to school in Galveston, TX and attended college at Mainland College with a degree in Graphic Arts. She enjoyed teaching and taught Mission I & II Bible Study, Naomia Circle and Ruth Circle.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Calvin Mitchell, Sam Williams; a daughter, Deloris Mitchell.

Her survivors includes her two sons, Walter (Jolander) Mitchell, Jr. of Dallas, TX, Shedrick Mitchell of Austin, TX; Doris Mitchell Hanks of Austin, TX; five brothers, Bill (Vernita) McKeel, Glenn McKeel all of Ferriday, LA, Carl Knight, North Carolina, Henry McKeel, Waterproof, LA, Raymond Knight of Wichita Falls, TX; four sisters, Rebecca (Timothy) Albert, Lawanda Connors all of Ferriday, LA, Lola McKeel, Adwina (Terry) Martin, Monroe, LA; nine grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchildren; a God given daughter, Ethel Gardner of Ferriday; a God given grandson, Lawrence Gardner of Ferriday, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
