Services for Percy James Lyons, Jr., 66, who died, Wednesday, September 13, 2017, at his residence in Geismer, LA will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Beechgrove Baptist Church, 9455 Elmgrove Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with Elder Marshall Hall, Pastor officiating.

Burial will follow at Vidalia City Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4 to 6 PM at the Funeral Home. Viewing also at the church on Saturday from 8:30 AM until service time only.

Mr. Lyons was born April 25, 1951 to Percy Lyons, Sr. and Mary Louise Bowser Lyons in Vidalia, Louisiana.

He was educated in the Concordia Parish School System and worked at LSU-BR for 37 years in the Department of Agriculture.

Percy leaves to cherish his memories six children, Patrice, Flora, Melvin, Joyce, Veronica, Jason and their offspring and spouses; three sisters, Catherine Cartwright(Oliver), Helen Lyles, both of Vidalia, LA, Frances Moore , New Orleans, LA; a dozen of grandchildren; two aunts and two uncles; his church family of Little Rising Sun Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, LA, St. James Baptist Church, Ridgecrest, Ferriday, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leontine; one daughter, Florence.
