Funeral services for Purcell Bethley, Jr. 77, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00am from Zion Hill Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow  at the church cemetery under the directions of Concordia Funeral Home of Ferriday. Rev. Leroy White will officiate. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Bethley, son of Purcell and Rosie Lee Owens Bethley was born in Ferriday and died at his residence. He was employed at Brakenridge Furniture Company in Ferriday for many years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lucille Bethley.

Mr. Bethley is survived by two son, Purcell Bethley and his wife, Sherry of Chesapeake, VA and Jason Bethley of Terrytown, LA; one daughter, Devarra B. Morrow and her husband, Michael of Harvey, LA; five brothers, Louis Bethley, Freddie Bethley, Marion Bethley  and Bennie Bethley all of Los Angeles, CA; Larry Bethley of Colorado Springs, CO; four sisters, Margie Bethley, Doris Matthews and her husband, Rodney all of Ferriday; Patsy Richardson of Clayton, LA; Doris Brown and her husband, Kevin of Pearland, TX.

Also four grandchildren, Lavonne Bethley  and Marquell Gregory both of Chesapeake, VA; Joselyn Morrow and Michael Morrow, Jr. both of Harvey, LA. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his co-workers at Brakenridge Furniture Co.
