Funeral services for Rosie Lee Smith Matchett, 69, of Vidalia, LA will be held November 8, 2014 at 11:30am from Union Baptist Church in Vidalia. Burial will follow at Vidalia Cemetery with Rev. Carl Smith officiating.

Mrs. Matchett, daughter of David and Rosa Cathern Smith was born in Vidalia and died at Natchez Regional Medical Center in Natchez, MS. She was a retired Correctional Officer for Concordia Parish Correctional Facility. She was also an usher for Union Baptist Church; member of the Rosewood #65 O. E. S., Fidelity Court #20 and Heroines of Jericho of Vidalia.

She is survived by her father, David Smith; five sisters, Pearl Long and her husband, George; Leatrice Dickens and her husband, Reginald; Mary Smith all of Vidalia; Jacqueline Smith of Fresno, TX; Ollie M. Washington and her husband, Huey of Missouri City, TX; one brother, Eric Smith and his wife, Tracey of Natchez, MS; two grandchildren, Dontelle White and Madison Matchett; three great-grandchildren, Kamaurre White, J'Niyah Brown and Willie Minor, III. And a number of niece, nephews and other relatives

She is preceded in death by her mother; a son, Wilford Deon Matchett; two brothers, James Smith and Henry Marshall; two sisters, Willie Ruth Smith and Gwendolyn Smith.
