Russell Lynn Joseph Cognevich passed away peacefully on October 18, 2021, in West Monroe, LA. He was a life long resident of the Westbank of New Orleans (Algiers). He was a dedicated chief tugboat engineer for Crescent Towing for over 30 years.  Russell was very involved in the seafarer's international union along with his many other endeavors.  Russell was a dedicated husband, father, and friend to many.  He was preceded in death by his loved ones,  Valerie Winter Cognevich and Kim Ann Mitchell.    He is survived by his children Nicholas Cognevich (Laci), Mindy Bernard (Kevin) and Becki Mitchell and his adored grandchildren Briann, Logan, Parker, Tucker, Paige and Lena.

A Celebration of life will be held for all friends and family of Russell on November 6, 2021, 12:00 PM at J & K Bar, 3700 General Meyer Ave, New Orleans, LA.
