Funeral services for Sarah Bowman, 65, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 11:00am from St. Paul Baptist Church in Ferriday. Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery with Pastor Phaion Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 7pm at the funeral home

Miss Bowman, daughter of Willie Bowman, Jr. and Clara Lewis was born in Ferriday and died at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria, LA. She was a retired librarian for Concordia Parish School System.

She is survived by her son, Marcus Kennedy and his wife, Brittany, of Pineville, LA; two brothers, James Bowman and his wife, Ethel of Ft. Washington, MD; Melvin Woodruff and his wife, Ethel of Lawton, OK; one sister, Ethel Bowman; a special nephew, Kenneth W. Bowman both of Carrollton, TX; three grandchildren, Brycen D. Kennedy, Madison M. Kennedy and Claire E. Kennedy all of Pineville; two aunts, Mary Scott and Martha White both of Ferriday.

She is preceded in death by her parents.
