Funeral services for Shelvey J. Dunkley, 82, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 11:00am from the Word of Faith Ambassador Outreach in Ferriday. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 t0 7pm at Mt Beulah Baptist Church in Ferriday with Bishop Justin Conner officiating. A military burial will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:00am at the Natchez National Cemetery in Natchez, MS.

Mr. Dunkley, the only son of Joe Dunkley and Ellidee Johnson Lewis was born  in Frogmore and died at his daughter's residence in Keithville, LA. He was retired from Diamond National as a Chef Supervisor and a correctional officer for the Concordia Parish Corrections. He also served in the US Army earning an honorable discharge.

He is survived by two children, Michaelynne D. Franklin and her husband, Marcus  of Keithville, LA; Shelvey Mark Dunkley and  his wife, Gussie of Mansfield, LA; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also two aunts, Jessie Mae Johnson of Ferriday and Inell Johnson of Pensacola, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents.
